The Brooklyn Center Business Association’s Golf fundraising event was a wonderful success! The Golf Event was held Friday, September 10. The golf event offered two time slots for golfers; allowing for greater participation from the community. This was well received and will continue in the future. Additionally, we initiated a Silent Auction including donations of themed baskets, and stand alone items; generating a kickoff to the weekend and creating a party atmosphere for the event.
Special thanks to the committee and to the amazing Paula Helgerson, local business owner, for spear heading the festivities. We would also like to say thank you to those who provided outstanding contributions, making the event a success. The UPS Store of Brooklyn Center for being our Printing Sponsor. They were a gift to us with their support and expertise. Applebee’s Restaurant of Brooklyn Center provided our meal of a Fajita bar this year and supported BCBA as our Food Sponsor. We were proud to have 11 Hole Sponsors to give added support to our event. Our 2010 Hole Sponsors came in a variety of levels.
Platinum $500 sponsors: The UPS Store, Cass Screw, Henningson & Snoxell ltd, Payroll Control Systems, Shane Mason Insurance, and The Growth Coach/Teresa Schutz
Diamond $300 sponsors: Allen Property Services, and Prairie Lodge
Gold $100 sponsors: Applebee’s, Brookdale Health, and Crowne Plaza
Proceeds from this year’s Silent Auction will be donated to the Brooklyn Center Centennial committee. A check for $725 will be presented Monday, October 25 at a Brooklyn Center City Council meeting to the Centennial committee. Brooklyn Center Business Association continues to support the growth of Brooklyn Center and honor the past; which makes us strong.
Paula is already on the ball in planning for next year’s BCBA Golf Event. She encourages you to join us next September, when our Golf Event will be Friday, September 9, 2011. Again, watch for ways you and your business can be part of this community building event. Hole Sponsoring, Silent Auction baskets and prize donations will be needed. Next year our tentative golfing times will be 1pm and 4pm, with our lunch and program in between, starting at 2:30. Awards for the golf contests will follow the final golf slot. Watch for details to be updated in Spring 2011; as changes may occur.
